Hebrews 1:10-12
And, “YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS; THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT, AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP; LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END.”
This world won’t last forever. We mustn’t put our trust in things temporal, but in He that was and is and is to come. We mustn’t invest ourselves in that which will burn up but in works that will withstand the eternal fire. We mustn’t set our focus on the passing pleasures of this earth and think we will later concern ourselves with eternity. We must Think Eternal now. Our Father commands it. Our Savior deserves it. Humanity depends on it.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
